AKA King's Hawaiian Hippy Dippy Toast. A good day starts with a good breakfast. This recipe is the cornerstone of a great first meal. King's Hawaiian Sweet Rolls make it all Hippy Dippy delicious.
There's nothing like that smell of breakfast when you get up in the morning. For this eye opening meal I first brewed a big pot of coffee, fried up some bacon and whipped out the King's Hawaiian Hippy Dippy Toast. In 30 minutes it was breakfast for two.
3 each sliced King's Hawaiian Mini Sub Rolls
3 each whole shell Eggs
2 each tablespoon Challenge Butter (salted or unsalted)
2 each ounces Whole Milk
4 each diced fresh Strawberry
4 each ounces Aunt Jemima Original Syrup
2 each teaspoon Powdered Sugar
Wash your hands with medium hot water and soap. Prep 3 each sliced King's Hawaiian Mini Sub Rolls by cutting 1/4 inch off top slice then cut each slice in half to make 12 total squares. Crack 3 each whole shell Eggs and place in bowl. Add 2 each ounces Whole Milk to eggs and mix to blend. Preheat large skillet on medium high heat 30 seconds. Add 1 each tablespoon Challenge Butter to melt. Take 3 each prepped bread squares and dip them in blended egg and milk mix. Dip to soak well for a few seconds then place all 3 pieces in skillet to cook. Immediately repeat process with additional 3 each bread squares. Cook the 6 each squares on each side 3 to 4 minutes or until golden brown. When cooked place on plate then repeat cooking process with remaining 6 each squares. On each plate shingle 6 each Hippy Dippy Toast in two rows of three. On each plate top with 2 each diced fresh Strawberry and 1 each teaspoon Powdered Sugar sprinkled to cover plate. Then split 4 each ounces Aunt Jemima Original Syrup (2 ounces for each plate) or serve syrup on side.
Cutting the top off creates a flat surface to cook and allows the egg mix to soak in evenly. Generally I do not cut off the crust on the bottom slice because it already allows for a flat surface.
Use a fork or whip to blend the egg mix. It should be whipped well to blend the whites, yolks and milk. You can add vanilla extract, nutmeg or cinnamon to enhance the flavor of the mix but its not necessary. The sweetness of the King's Hawaiian Mini Sub Rolls and Aunt Jemima Original Syrup takes care of that.
Cooking times may vary depending on how hot you skillet is at the time you put the soaked squares in. Always best to check about every minute by lifting a piece and looking underneath to monitor the cooking time. Usually takes 3 to 4 minutes on each side but that time maybe reduced if pan is too hot.
Plate however you like I prefer the shingle method. Starting at the top place a square add the next on top near the bottom portion to create an angled slope. Repeat with next piece to continue the affect. Add your diced strawberries then powdered sugar and serve. Morning yummy!
King's Hawaiian Hippy Dippy Toast easy to make easy to love. It doesn't take much to be a morning hero except 30 minutes of your time and a Good Dad Bad Man effort.
