AKA Costa Mesa Chili Cheese Burger. You got Chili on my Burger. You got Burger on my Chili. A combination waiting after an afternoon on the beach. Who's turn is it to BBQ? I'm bringing the Straight Kick'N Beef Chili to top off a great day.
Just east of Newport Beach a short bike ride from the peninsula is Costa Mesa, California. If your not familiar with this next to seashore community let me fill you in. It's where the cool kids live. A youngsters paradise close to the beach but far from the traffic. With an afternoon on shore wind blowing you hardly notice you're peddling up the hill.
1 each 1/3 pound (5.3 ounces) All Beef Burger Patty
3 ounces Straight Kick'N Beef Chili
2 each sliced Sargento Colby Pepper Jack Cheese
1 each Sara Lee White Burger Roll
2 each slices Steakhouse Tomato
2 each thin slices Red Onion
1/2 ounce shredded Iceberg Lettuce
Salt & Pepper to Taste
Wash hands with medium hot water and soap. BBQ or pan fry 1 each 1/3 pound All Beef Burger Patty to desired doneness Salt & Pepper to taste. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Place burger patty on sheet pan on top add 2 each slices Sargento Colby Pepper Jack Cheese. Also on the sheet pan place 1 each Sara Lee White Burger Roll opened to toast lightly. Put sheet pan in oven for 3 minutes or until cheese reaches its melty goodness. Turn off oven and remove sheet pan. Start with the bottom piece of burger roll. Top with 1/2 ounce shredded Iceberg Lettuce, 2 each thin slices Red Onion and 2 each slices Steakhouse Tomato. With a spatula take burger patty topped with melted cheese and place on tomato slices. Finally add 3 ounces Straight Kick'N Beef Chili and finish by placing the top piece of burger roll.
